Presentation

Painless swelling in her right neck, first noticed 10 weeks previously.

Patient Data

Age: 30 years
Gender: Female
mri

A sharply delineated T2-hyperintense cyst at the level of the right carotid bifurcation without contrast enhancement. It is located between the anterior border of the right sternomastoid posteriorly, posterior aspect of the right submandibular gland anteriorly and the carotid sheath medially.

Case Discussion

Imaging features and location of the cystic lesion is in keeping with a non-complicated second branchial cleft cyst.
