Presentation

Facial trauma with incidentally found an arachnoid cyst.

Patient Data

Age: 30 years
Gender: Male
ct

Large extraaxial CSF density region axial width up to 45 x 30 mm in anterior left side middle cranial fossa with impression on adjacent temporal lobe and calvarium bone is seen. Right eye temporal deviation is noted.

Case Discussion

The case illustrates the non-contrast features of the arachnoid cyst in the middle cranial fossa. The most common location of an arachnoid cyst is in the middle cranial fossa. The cyst can progressively be enlarged and cause hydrocephalus and has no diffusion restriction on diffusion-weighted MRI.
