Dermoid cyst in the medial canthus

Presentation

Right eye esodeviation and painless limitation of motion of the right eye.

Patient Data

Age: 5 years
Gender: Male

Well-defined fat-soft tissue containing cystic mass lesion axial width up to 12 x 10 mm and height up to 10 mm in right side deep medial canthus with impression on related medial rectus muscle tendon and also adjacent bone.

Esodeviation of the right eye is seen.

Case Discussion

The case illustrates the non-contrast MDCT features of deep medial canthus pathology-proved dermoid cyst. The deep medial canthus is not a common location of dermoid cysts. Dermoid cysts have a small risk of malignant transformation and also can progressively enlarge.
