Acute and hyperacute subdural hematoma

Large extra-axial fluid collection on the right, with high attenuation and low attenuation portions. There is a right to left midline shift with uncal and subfalcine herniation.
Case Discussion
This head CT was thought to represent an acute and a chronic subdural hematoma. The child was taken to the OR and no chronic subdural hematoma was found. An acute subdural hematoma was removed and an actively bleeding bridging vein was coagulated.
