Presentation

History of old cerebral trauma. Now headache.

Patient Data

Age: 15 years
Gender: Female

Diffuse calvarial and facial bone thickening with widened diploic space eliciting diffuse abnormal low signal intensity secondary to active red marrow and iron deposition from multiple blood transfusions.

Sagittal MRI T2 images of the spine also showed diffuse low marrow signal less than intervertebral disk signal.

Case Discussion

Known case of B- thalassemia major.
