Left lower lobe collapse.

A number of interval repeat CXRs showed the same finding of persistent LLL collapse. this was initially attributed to asthma with mucus plugging. Because of failure to resolve, CT chest was performed.

Enhancing lesion which appears endobronchial obstructing the LLL bronchus and causing LLL collapse.

Case Discussion

Persistent collapse or consolidation on chest x-ray is an indication for further investigation with CT in any patient.
