Severe valgus deformity of the first metatarsophalangeal joint (hallux valgus).

Severe hallux valgus is seen with a first metatarsophalangeal angle of 45° and an intermetatarsal angle of 18°.

Case Discussion

The measured angles are in keeping with severe hallux valgus. It is considered severe when the first metatarsophalangeal angle is >40° (N<15°) and the intermetatarsal angle is ≥18° (N<9°).
