Presentation

Right breast palpable mass on physical exam.

Patient Data

Age: 60 years
Gender: Female
mammography

A hyperdense mass with irregular and spiculated margin and fine foci of calcifications is noted in the central portion of the right breast, causing surrounding parenchymal distortion and skin retraction. (BI-RADS 5)

Case Discussion

BI-RADS 5 lesions refer to breast lesions highly suspicious of malignancy, requiring appropriate action such as a biopsy. 

The patient underwent an ultrasound guided core needle biopsy, and a histopathology evaluation confirmed invasive ductal carcinoma.
