Presentation
Pain, no history of trauma
Patient Data
Multiple loose bodies of varying sizes are seen in axillary recess, subscapularis recess/subcoracoid bursa, along bicipital groove splaying biceps tendon and along greater tuberosity likely extending between supraspinatus and infraspinatus tendon fibers. Few loose bodies are also seen between fibers of supraspinatus myotendinous junction.
Cortical irregularity is seen involving head of humerus, bicipital groove with subcortical cystic changes along greater tuberosity.
Fraying of anterior glenoid labrum is seen.
Small marginal osteophytes are seen along gleno-humeral articular aspects.
Acromion is type 2 with early acromioclavicular joint arthropathy.
CT confirms the findings on MRI.
Case Discussion
Findings are consistent with synovial osteochondromatosis which has lead to secondary osteoarthritic changes.
