Presentation

Abnormal head shape.

Patient Data

Age: 6 years
Gender: Female

Abnormal narrow with cephalo-caudal elongation of the skull and frontal bossing due to premature closure of the sagittal suture. Normal appearance of the other cranial sutures.

Normal appearance of the posterior cranial fossa, cerebral hemispheres and ventricular system.

Case Discussion

3D-VR CT of premature closure of the sagittal suture in keeping with a scaphocephaly.

Normally, the fusion of the sagittal suture occurs at approximately 22 years of age.
