Presentation

History of right lower abdominal pain for 1 hour & dysuria. Plenty of RBCs are noted in the urine analysis.

Patient Data

Age: 50 years
Gender: Male
ultrasound

Right mild hydroureteronephrosis is noted.

Simple renal cyst is noted in the upper pole.

Ureteric stone measuring 8.5mm at the crossing of the right iliac vessels.

The appendix shows normal shape & caliber.

Case Discussion

The ureter crossing region of the iliac vessels is one of the common areas where ureteric stones may be found.

A different diagnosis of this case is appendicitis, so always don't forget to cheche the appendix.
