Medial hallux sesamoid fracture

Increased diastasis between the two fragments of medial hallux sesamoid bone and slight cortical irregularity along the bone fragments. In keeping with the history of trauma, this is suspicious for a fractured medial hallux sesamoid bone.
Case Discussion
Although the differential, in this case, is bipartite medial hallux sesamoid bone in which the two bone fragments are usually closely placed with smooth cortical margins. Whereas in this case, there is an increased diastasis between the bone fragments and slight cortical irregularity of the bone fragments, which raises suspicion of the fractured sesamoid bone in keeping with the patient's history.
