Enchondroma of the proximal humerus

Presentation

Incidental finding on an MRI of the shoulder.

Patient Data

Age: 45 years
Gender: Male

A well-circumscribed lobulated mass within the bone medullary cavity of the surgical neck of the right humerus. This lesion demonstrates T1 hypointense and T2 and STIR hyperintense signal with focal regions of signal drop out within.
No bone expansion, no pathological fractures, and the bony cortex are preserved.
