How is epiploic appendagitis typically treated?
Conservative management, typically with analgesics and anti-inflammatory medication (such as NSAIDs), is the treatment of choice. Surgery is rarely indicated.
When discussing epiploic appendagitis, what does the "central dot sign" (i.e. increased attenuation within the inflamed appendage) typically indicate?
While not always seen, the central "dot" stems from a thrombosed vein.
