MRI - MRI Brain
Lack of septum pellucidum, hypoplastic optic nerves and chiasm, and small pituitary gland with absent posterior bright spot are characteristic findings of septo-optic dysplasia. There was no associated schizencephaly, a common association.

MRI (T2):
Axial T2 showing absence of the septum pellucidum.

MRI (T1):
Coronal T1 showing absence of the septum pellucidum and abnormal appearance of the inferior aspects of the lateral ventricles.

MRI (T2):
Coronal T2 showing a hypoplastic optic chiasm with absence of the septum pellucidum and abnormal appearance of the inferior aspects of the lateral ventricles.

MRI (T1):
Sagittal T1 shows absence of the normal posterior pituitary bright spot and a small pituitary gland and optic chiasm.
