MRI
Well-defined broad-based extra-dural mass of the upper cervical canal at C2 level (below the foramen magnum), lateralised to the left, compressing and displacing the spinal cord to the right. It displays an isosignal to the spinal cord on T1 and T2 with no calcification or haemorrhagic component on the GE sequence. Vivid homogeneous enhancement on postcontrast sequences with a "dural tail sign" well-demonstrated on the postcontrast sagittal sequence.
