Gender: Female

Left breast

A new asymmetry appears on a screening mammogram.  

The lesion is solid but echogenic and poorly defined. 

This is the appearance at the time of needle biopsy.

Case Discussion

This is an echogenic invasive ductal carcinoma, an unusual appearance. The lesions are usually not this dense on ultrasound.
