Persistent metopic suture with frontal sinus agensis

Discussion:

Metopic suture, commonly obliterated by the age of 7 years can persist as an anatomical variant and is of little clinical significance except in cases of trauma where it can be misinterpreted as a frontal bone fracture. It may be associated with frontal sinus agenesis (as in this case) or hypoplasia.
