Why is this round pneumonia and not a mass lesion?
Air bronchograms traverse the lesion demonstrating air-space opacification. Round pneumonia is a non-uncommon presentation in childhood.
Is a follow up film required? And, if so, when?
Follow up radiographs are not required. However, if there is failure of symptom resolution despite adequate therapy, repeat radiographs can be helpful.
Rounded opacification adjacent to the right hilum. Air bronchograms traverse the lesion. Features are typical of a round pneumonia.
