What is the location of lesion?
Lesion appears to on fetal side of placenta, close to cord insertion.
Is it a potentially lethal condition?
It is usually a benign and incidental finding. However, if >4 cm, it may predispose to polyhydramnios or even hydrops fetalis.
A well circumscribed hypoechoic mass at the fetal surface of the placenta, adjacent to the cord insertion, bulging into the amniotic cavity. The mass has internal vascularity and adjacent feeding vessels.
