CT performed due to clinical concerns over a lung mass

Patient Data

Age: 45 years
Gender: Male

Splenectomy, high attenuation liver (iron overload) and coarse bones - all part of the underlying thalassemia major.

Bulbous rib ends.

Paraspinal and rib related masses of extramedullary haemopoiesis.
