Presentation

History of adrenalectomy for left adrenal carcinoma. Recent presentation with fever and left flank pain.

Patient Data

Age: 40
Gender: Female
ct

Collections with internal gas and surrounding fat stranding and fluid are seen at left perirenal and pararenal spaces (site of adrenalectomy). Left pleural effusion also is noted. 

Case Discussion

Findings consistent retroperitoneal abscess, probably due to descending colonic fistula.
