Which embryological layers are dermoid cysts composed from?
The components of a dermoid cyst arise from all 3 embryological layers; endoderm, mesoderm and ectoderm. For this reason a wide range of malignancies have been reported as occurring within dermoid cysts, including breast and thyroid cancer.
