Osteosarcoma of the proximal radius

Presentation

History of trauma one month ago. Minimal pain and swelling in the forearm since then.

Patient Data

Age: 16 years
Gender: Male

Anteroposterior and lateral radiographs of the elbow joint and the forearm reveal cortical destruction of the proximal radius. There is associated soft tissue mass in the proximal forearm.

Case Discussion

Initial radiograph was taken at the time of trauma, with similar findings interpreted as a radial head fracture.

The final diagnosis (biopsy proven) was osteosarcoma
