Presentation

Ataxia and gait disturbance.

Patient Data

Age: 5 years
Gender: Female
mri

MRI demonstrates a heterogenous round mass centered in the cerebellar inferior vermis associated with surrounding white matter edema.The solid portion of the tumor is slightly hypointense compared to white matter on T1 and hyperintense on T2. Following intravenous administration of gadolinium the mass shows irregular vivid enhancement.There is no evidence of hydrocephaly.

Gross appearance of the mass.

Case Discussion

The findings are consistent with medulloblastoma. Eventually she underwent craniotomy. It was a histopathologically proven medulloblastoma.
