This was the 4th CT head in 12 months with the history "recurrent falls" and the first to demonstrate any acute pathology.
There is a small intraventricular hemorrhage within the right lateral ventricle. Note dependent blood in the posterior horn.
Case Discussion
Blood in the ventricles appears as hyperdense material, heavier than CSF and thus tends to pool dependently, best seen in the occipital horns.It is unknown whether there was a traumatic etiology or if this is the result of a lenticulostriate artery hypertensive bleed.
