Diagnosis certain

Presentation

Car accident.

Patient Data

Age: 35

CT Sinus

ct

Nonenhanced CT shows multiples fractures of the orbital roof, frontal sinus and zygoma with fragments within the frontal sinus and intracranial displacements. Small hyperdensities and pneumocephalus in the subarachnoid space in relation to  frontal right lobe. No evidence of muscles or nerves entrapment. Increase right periocular soft tissue volume.

Case Discussion

Computed tomography is the technique of choice to evaluate complex fractures of the orbit because it can show displacement of bone fragments, injury to the orbital muscles or nerves, and intracraneal involment  which are often not measurable with conventional radiology.
