Presentation

Right iliac fossa pain.

Patient Data

Age: 40 years
Gender: Female
mri

Right ovarian lesion displays bright signal on T1 and T2 and suppressed signal on STIR denoting fat content.

Left-sided uterine rounded lesion exhibits isointense signal on T1 and hypointense signal on T2 representing interstitial myoma.

Case Discussion

Fat suppression technique e.g. STIR and FAT SAT are used to differentiate between ovarian dermoid cyst and hemorrhagic cyst as a dermoid cyst contains fat and its signal will be suppressed on fat suppression.
