Trauma (fracture femoral neck), corticosteroid therapy, sickle cell disease, hypercoagulopathy and idiopathic.
What is the name of avascular necrosis of femoral heads when occur in a child?
Legg-Calve-Perthes disease.
The patient was found to have sickle cell disease.
Bilateral hip avascular necrosis more advanced on the left side which displays structural collapse and secondary degenerative arthritis. On the right side there is crescent sign of femoral head with marrow edema extending to the neck. Bilateral hip joint effusion more on the right side.
