Portal hypertension with caput medusae

Presentation

Known patient with liver cirrhosis underwent radiofrequency ablation for hepatocellular carcinoma and now for follow up

Patient Data

Age: 50 years
Gender: Male

Dilated main portal vein and its branches with recanalization of umbilical vein. Multiple tortous veins are seen radiating from the umbilicus representing portosystemic collaterals and was described as caput medusae sign.
