Subacromial-subdeltoid calcific bursitis

Diagnosis almost certain

Presentation

Acute onset of non-traumatic left shoulder pain and weakness - 3 days.

Patient Data

Age: 53 years
Gender: Female

 

Calcification is noted in supraspinatus tendon

Involving  - posterior fibers. Size - 16 x 8 mm.  Posteror acoustic shadowing - Present

Leak of calcification is noted in to subdeltoid-subacromian bursa causing moderate effusion and wall hypervascularity.

Biceps tendon is normal in position and echopatten.

Infraspinatus tendon -  normal echogenity. No tear is noted.

2 mm calcification  in subscapularis tendon. No tear is noted.

Case Discussion

Findings suggest calcific tendinosis and bursitis.
