Posterior lumbar subcutaneous edema

Posterior lumbar subcutaneous region shows signal changes which are hyperintense on T2 and STIR sequences and hypointense on T1 weighted sequence. The spine is otherwise unremarkable. No canal or foraminal stenosis (not-shown)
Case Discussion
No definite cause of pain identified. Subcutaneous high T2 / low T1 signal is likely incidental and consistent with edema within posterior lumbar subcutaneous tissues.
