The appearance of bidirectional blood flow on ultrasound doppler, in keeping with a pseudo/aneurysm. It is named after the symbol representing the chinese philosophers thoughts to describe how opposing forces are interconnected and interdependent.

The groin (femoral) following arterial puncture for cardiac catheterisation/femoral angiography and following pancreatitis as well as from the carotid artery.
