What are the differential diagnoses to be considered, given the clinical scenario?
The differential diagnoses are omental torsion, mesenteric panniculitis, Meckel's diverticulitis and epiploic appendagitis. A close look to rule out acute appendicitis is also warranted.
Focal thickening of omentum is seen in right iliac fossa with significant haziness, heterogeinity and fat stranding suggestive of segmental omental infarction.
Minimal free fluid seen in the pelvis with small, radiologically insignificant multiple mesenteric lymphnodes.
