Typical "snake eyes" appearance of the facial nerve canal with the tympanic segment of the facial nerve adjacent to the labrynthine segment.

Red dots overlie the facial nerve canal:

  • lateral red dot = tympanic segment of facial nerve
  • medial red dot = labrynthine segment of facial nerve
