Complications of osteochondromas include fractures, bony deformities, neurologic and vascular injuries, bursa formation, and malignant transformation (less than 1% in solitary lesions).
What are the commonest locations?
Most commonly arise from the appendicular skeleton, especially around the knee (30% occurs in the femur,15-20% in the tibia).
An osseous outgrowth arising from the medial aspect of the distal femur and directed upwards (away from the joint), its cortex appears continuous with that of the femur.
