- the distal duodenum, duodeno-jejunal flexure and proximal jejunum are not visualised in the midline or to the left of the spine
- the rest of the small bowel loops are seen to lie predominantly to the right of the spine
- the barium filled ascending colon is seen to lie in midline and to the left of spine
