Ultrasound
Is there a blood sample of specific interest?
TRAb. In the clinical setting of thyrotoxicosis with ultrasound depicting thyroiditis, knowing the patient´s thyrotropin receptor antibodies (TRAb) will render imaging differential diagnosis a merely academic question.
Ultrasound depicts a multinodular, enlarged thyroid. The gland is enlarged and exhibits slightly hypo echoic architecture. Colour flow imaging reveals spectacular marked hypervascularity, aka "thyroid inferno", including the nodular elements.
No calcifications are present.
No cervical lymphadenopathy is demonstrated (not shown).
