What are the features of right lower lobe collapse on X-ray?
increased opacity (triangular in shape) at the medial base of the right lung, lost of the medial aspect of the dome of right hemi-diaphragm, descend of the right hilum, descending right lower lobe pulmonary artery is not visualised,
What are some non-specific signs of right lower lobe collapse?
elevation of the hemidiaphragm, crowding of the left sided ribs, shift of the mediastinum to the right
The increase density at right lower lobe with occlusion of right lower bronchus indicate collapse of the right lower lobe. There is ground-glass opacity around the collapsed right lower lobe and left lower lobe. There is also fibrotic pattern at the base of left lower lobe.
