Solitary pulmonary nodule - fat containing

Case contributed by Ayush Goel
Diagnosis probable

Presentation

General check up before leaving the country.

Patient Data

Age: 20 years
Gender: Male

Chest radiograph

x-ray

Smooth solitary pulmonary nodule noted in the right mid zone.

Smooth soft tissue density nodular lesion (20 x 15 mm) with slight lobulation seen in the superior segment of the right lower lobe with evidence of fat density within. Also, two satellite nodules in close proximity (likely infective).

Case Discussion

Features are consistent with a fat-containing pulmonary lesion. The satellite nodules in the close proximity are likely infective for which the patient was kept on ATT.

As imaging features of the mass are characteristic, no biopsy is required.

Followup to ensure temporal stability will be performed.
