Cervical cord edema and minimal expansion are noted, discretely involving the posterior column tracts, simulating the inverted V sign on axial imaging, consistent with subacute combined degeneration of the cord. This is due to vitamin B12 deficiency.
Case Discussion
The above findings are in keeping with subacute combined degeneration of the cervical cord.
The patient's symptoms improved after initiating vitamin therapy.
