Presentation

Right-sided painless neck swelling.

Patient Data

Age: 30 years
Gender: Male

A well-defined rather ovoid cystic lesion is seen at the right retromandibular space. It lies between and undercover of the corresponding SCM and the great neck vessels. It has no mural thickening, septae, or soft tissue component.

A well-defined ovoid cystic lesion with clear internal content and the thin enhancing wall is seen in the right retromandibular region. It lies between the anterior aspect of the sternocleidomastoid muscle and cervical great vessels.

Case Discussion

The US and CT findings are compatible with 2nd branchial cleft cyst which is by far the most common type of this branchial anomaly.
