Presentation
Painless palpable lump (developing after trauma) in anterior abdominal wall for three years.

CT scan shows a well-defined focal area of increased fat attenuation in the subcutaneous plane of the anterior abdominal wall at the site of a palpable lump. The lesion shows a peripheral capsule of soft tissue density. The capsule shows contrast enhancement.
Case Discussion
Post-traumatic fat necrosis is a benign condition developing due to necrosis of subcutaneous fat by traumatic inflammatory process followed by healing by fibrosis with formation of peripheral fibrous capsule encasing the central core of liquid fat. Fibrous capsule may show calcification.
