What is an AP resection?
Abdominoperineal (AP) resection is a common surgical treatment for rectal cancer and involves removing distal colon, rectum and anal sphincters via both anterior abdominal and perineal approaches. Results in a permanent colostomy.
Large extraperitoneal collection of contrast, with contrast leaking from the posterior urethra. Filling defects within the penile urethra related to lignocaine gel. Tip of the catheter seen in the navicular fossa.
