Middle aged patient with an acute visual disturbance - right homonymous hemianopia.

Patient Data

Age: 53
Gender: Male
ct

Low attenuation with sulcal effacement (due to edema ) in the right occiptal lobe.

No hemorrhage.

Background small vessel ischemic change.

Case Discussion

CT is performed at acute presentation in stroke, especially to allow for thrombolysis to be performed.

This is the classically appearances of a posterior cerebral artery territory infarction.
