Presentation

Known renal stone disease. Recent bilateral ureteric stent insertion.

Patient Data

Age: 55 years
Gender: Female
x-ray

Bilateral ureteric stents.

Large volume left sided renal stone disease.

Calcified uterine fibroids.

Case Discussion

Ureteric stent insertion may be performed by a retrograde route ( urologist ) or antegrade route ( radiologist ).

The former is with a combination of endscopy and fluroscopy, the later with fluroscopy alone.

Renal stone disease and malignancy are 2 common indications for their placement.
