Age: 85 years
Gender: Male

The third proximal interphalangeal joint demonstrates gross abnormality with periarticular erosions with overhanging margins, subluxation with loss of joint space and mild periarticular osteopaenia.

Associated periarticular dense soft tissue swelling, representing soft tissue tophus.

Tiny fragment of bone projected adjacent to the PIP joint.

Widening of the scapholunate interval to reflect synovitis secondary to gout.
