Egg-shaped cystic mass arising from the right lateral nasal ala of the anterior naris with overlying soft tissue swelling.
Case Discussion
The likely etiology of this cystic inflammatory mass is an inflamed hair follicle in the nasal mucosa i.e. folliculitis, complicated by abscess development. It is not in the midline, thus it is neither a septal abscess nor a midline dermoid that is infected. It is too anterior to be an infected nasolabial cyst.
