Presentation

The patient is having imaging for chronic headaches. Incidental finding in the left orbit

Patient Data

Age: 35
Gender: Female

Well defined cystic mass (HU of 6) in the upper left orbit with a minimally enhancing wall but no internal enhancement.  It causeS pressure erosion to the orbital roof but sits outside the muscle cone and causes no distortion to the globe.

mri

Well-defined cystic extraconal mass in the upper left orbit showing T1 hypointensity and mixed T2 hypo and hyperintensity in keeping with proteinaceous/keratin material and fluid. It is separate and medial to the lacrimal gland.
