Intestinal malrotation with midgut volvulus

Presentation

Abdominal pain.

Patient Data

Age: 9 years
Gender: Male

There is whirlpool like appearance in the upper abdomen with reversal of SMA-SMV relationship. Small bowel is occupying right side of abdomen with absence of cecum and appendix in right iliac fossa. Large bowel is occupying midline and left side of abdomen. Findings are consistent with intestinal malrotation with midgut volvulus.
